We are looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to work within Outotec’s Global Proposal Management Team delivering solution proposals. You will be based in Espoo, Finland and your focus will be primarily on dewatering plant proposals. You will be given the chance to work for a strong technology company in an international setup and in a central role with Outotec’s global sales, product management, engineering and delivery teams, solving our customers problems with world class solutions.
As Proposal Manager (Solutions), you will:
Manage customer RFQ material and requests for clarifications.
Act in the role of a project manager to form and lead virtual teams of specialists in order to define the process, plant engineering, project implementation, contractual setup and cost estimation.
Develop and define scope and value proposition, as well as schedule tasks for the proposal with key stakeholders (i.e.) sales, supply, and execution.
Act as the point of contact person between sales, supply and execution and develop, collect/collate all relevant information to prepare proposals.
Commit and deliver proposals per deadlines, and maintain correctness, quality and proper archiving of proposals.
Lead/support subcontractor tendering.
Participate in site visits and tendering meetings.
Prepare proposal documentation in collaboration with the proposals, sales, supply and execution team.documentation in collaboration with the proposals, sales, supply and execution team.
To succeed, you will need:
Suitable academic background, e.g. Master’s / Bachelor’s degree or similar.
8+ years of successful job experience in roles of proposal management, project management, and/or sales.
Knowledge of typical business models, principles of solution sales, sales processes, large-scale project management and cost estimation.
Basic knowledge of minerals processing and understanding of the cause and effect of various design/process changes.
Ability to interpret/appreciate client requirements/expectations.
Ability to analyze cost and benefits to inform decisions.
Capability of internal networking and cross boundary collaboration to address customer needs.
Good management, organization and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under tight timelines and business pressure.
Fluent written and spoken English skills (Spanish, French and Portuguese language skills are a plus in certain markets).
