Our Business Unit (BU) Automation develops technologies, products and automation solutions for various digital mining applications and sells them globally in all major mining regions. Our most recognized product names are AutoMine® and OptiMine®, which are both leading digital solutions in the industry.

We are now looking for an experienced and active Project Office Manager to support our rapidly growing business in the field of digital mining products. This is a permanent position based in Tampere, Finland.

Key Performance Areas

Project Office Management:
  • Manage, report and own the full BU Automation project portfolio (R&D and Customer Projects)
  • Develop associated processes to reach project KPIs and achieve overall quality
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Directly manage large, strategically important customer and R&D projects
  • Regularly participate in and lead customer meetings
  • Actively participate in and supervise activities related to project pre-sales and execution
  • Ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are well aligned
  • Ensure that all projects are managed, governed and reported based on professional project management principles
  • Lead a team of project managers

Lean and Agile Methodology:
  • Work with the management team in BU Automation to implement a new Lean and Agile project methodology
  • You will be the owner of the Methodology and processes for BU Automation and you will act as a mentor across the organization to promote, develop and implement the process
  • Within the Lean and Agile process, you will establish the required governance and financial sign-off for projects that meet the Process governance and Sandvik Financial Guidelines

Your Profile
You have a suitable technical education (e.g. Bachelor or Master of Science) and training on Lean and Agile methodologies. You are fluent in English. You have previous experience of delivering complex customer projects, people management and managing complex R&D projects in a large international engineering/automotive organization.

You can establish strong professional relationships directly with customers and communicate with them at all levels in their organization. You can manage a project office with a large and complex portfolio. You understand wider business needs and find innovative solutions to complex problems. You have excellent leadership, change management, networking, presentation and negotiation skills. You are able to work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong customer focus. Willingness to travel is a prerequisite for the job.
